At he top of the page: Voted unanimously that the Assembly is lawfully & constitutionally assembled then a committee to state the grievances. Voted to adjourn till ... Wednesday [August] 16." (Month supplied from a perpetual calendar.)|Page [2] is blank.|Pages [3] and [4] list the first 8 grievances against such entities as the General Court, lawyers, salaries of public officers, potential banckruptcy, the unsettled accounts of the United States, and the "quantities of foreign superfluities ... are permitted to be brought into this state from foreign nations."|On p. [3], item 3: That a committee of seven be chosen to make out a list of grieviances & report the same to the convention ...."|Page [5]-[8], on 2 conjugate leaves, record votes 24-35. Woods's signature appears after vote 35.|Number 24: Voted to choose a committee of 5 persons to draw up an address to the respective towns this convention represents: Chose Mr. Isaac Reed, Mr. Sameul Bartlet, Mr. Jonas Lee, Deacon Samuel Farrar, dismissed Capt. Timothy Jones, Capt Samuel Hoar ....|Number 25: Voted that the committee chose ... Capt McFarland & others to draw up grievances & consider Deacon Wins and others grievances ... Number 26: Voted to adjourn to ... August 25 1786.|Number 28 Voted that Capt. [Nathan? Nathaniel?] Maloon be favored with a copy of this Proceedings of the convention|Number 29: "We are sensible that our assembling in convention to consider ... the grievances under which the people of this county labour is viewed in different lights and the consequences following therefrom, it is fear'd by many, will be dangerous. We view the preservation of peace and good order of union & harmony amongst one another and a zealous endeavour to support & maintain our excellent constitution is of so great importance that we think ourselves bound ... to avoid every measure that shall tend to introduce disagreement in sentiment or that shall encourage murmurs and complaints within the respective towns ....|"We are free to acknowledge and do earnestly recommend a spirited endeavour among all orders & ranks of people to revive & encourage a spirit of industry & frugality, of virtue & brotherly love, of kindness & forbearance with one another as the surest means of removeing [sic] the evils complained of."|"We blush in takeing [sic] a retrospective view of the change that has taken place in the morals of people since the commencement of the late war ....Yet since the blessing of peace and plenty is again restored, our independence secured, & our government established, let us not act so ungrateful a part as to forget the obligations we are under to the supreme disposer of all events."|We earnestly recommend a general resolution may be adopted in every town, for the revival of private as well as public virtues. Let us endeavour to retrench every unnecessary expence, forbear to throw away our money for foreign gee gaws. let industry and frugality and a close attention to our own manufactures be considered as essential to our happiness. Let us seek and elect the wisest & best men for ourselves, and while we seek redress of grievances, let us strengthen the hands of government by striving to pay up our taxes.|Number 30 voted that a committee of 7 persons be chosen to copy off the proceedings: Joseph Nichols, James King, Walter McFarland, Benj.m Ball, Jonas Lee, Samuel Hoar, Waldrin Stone ... and 4 more: Mr. Adams, Mr. Chandler, Mr Hutchinson, and Mr. Moses Richardson.|At top of p. [7]: p.r order Isaac Reed, Chairman|No. 32 voted that Messrs. Isaac Reed, Samuel Bartlett and Alpheus Woods prepare the items for the press|On p. [8]: Voted that the convention be adjourned to the first Tuesday in October next ... at the dwelling house of Capt. Oliver Brown inn holder in Concord."|Apparently draft minutes of the meeting(s)|Oliver Brown was an original member of the Massachusetts Society of the Cincinnati.
