Account of the defense of the Landau against an attack by a coalition of Dutch, English and German forces, was begun by Villemont, the ingénieur en chef of Landau, and continued by his successor de Joinville.
The fortifications at Landau were designed by Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban in 1688; this report by two engineers, presents itself as the complement of Laubanie's narrative, is critical of the design and situation of the fortifications, and of the actions of the officers involved in the defense.
Last part (p. 47-58) consists of a two column table showing the terms and conditions for the surrender of the town.
