Item [1]: "Norwich, June 29, 1776. Recd from Windham Powder Mill seventeen lbs powder by the hand Mr. John Spencer ... for & in behalf of Jz Huntington Esqr. Docketed on verso: Receipt for 17 lbs of powder Dd to Colo Jz. Huntington 1723 1/2 # Powder|Jabez Huntington was a Major General in the Connecticut militia|Item [2]:A.D.S. Zyph Huntington, [s.d., but ca. July 1, 1776] to Nathaniel Wales, Windham. "Sir after you was gone the other day I found the above acct [now detached] which I suppose was all the powder sent to Genl Huntingtons care from your mill[.] [I]f you can see cause to send me 3/ or 4/ for my trouble is all I require ....|Item [3] is apparently the accounting record referred to in [no.2]|In December, 1775, the General Assembly granted Nathaniel Wales, Jr. and JedidiahElderkin liberty to erect a powder mill in Windham. -- see A.
