Item [1], 5 February, 1781 is a partially printed document signed by Jabez Hamlin, Judge of the Court of Probate for the district of Middleton, Conn., granting Mrs. Catharine [or Katherine in some records] Boardman, widow of Samuel Allen Boardman, power of attorney.|Item [2]: A.D.S. by Isaac Miller, Justice of the Peace, Seth Wetmore and Amos Wetmore, Selectmen, 1784, certifies that Samuel Allen Boardman sarved as a Continental soldier in Col. Jonathan Meigs's regiment of foot "from March 1778 untill September [illegible] 1781 the time of his deth.". On verso: Mss. Pay order signed Timothy Clark Justice of peace, Southington, Sept. 1784 for "ballance found due to Samuel Allen Baordman ... for service in Colo Meigs Regiment before the year 1782 .... "Personally appeared Catharine Boardman syner [signer] of the above order ...." In upper left margin: Joseph Thorp|Item [3] is a partially printed D.S. by Joseph [Thorp?] in behalf of Catharine, Hartford, December 28, 1784 for 5 pounds nineteen shillings and nine pence, "being the balance due to Samuel A. Boardman deceased ...." Docketed on verso: Samuel A. Boardman / Rect. ... Vol. 2 fol. 237 / Entered. One Joseph Thorp was a brother of the widow Catharine (Thorp) Boardman.
