Column 2 lists amounts that Hubbard was to pay for those goods and services.|Goods listed include wheat, sugar, cofffee, Indian meal, mutton, lamb, and beef as well as wood. Services include transportation, "going after her cow that straid 3 miles", cutting wood, and traveling for some supplies.|One Roswell Hubbard is listed in Record of Connecticut men in the Revolution, p. 254, as having served as a private in Sherburne's Additional Continental Regiment in 1777. One is also listed in Whittemore. History of Middlesex County, 1635-1885, part II. Two men of that name are possible subjects of this order; one lived from 1763-1814, an unlikely candidate because he had no children until 1787. The other was born in 1736, but no death date has been found. He could have had a family left destitute had he been seriously injured or killed.|On verso: Nov. the 2nd 1778 Then Rec.d of ye Selectmen of Middletown an order on the town treasu.r for the sum of thirty pounds, eleven shillings ... in full for the within acctt rec.d pr me [signed] Jedidiah Sage|Docketed on verso: Jedediah / Sages acctt / for supply / ing Rosswel / Hubbards / family L30.0.0 / order given / Nov. 2 1778 / No. 7|See also in the collection: MSS L1989.1.49 for a related document.
