Designed as a kind of "raree" [peep] show, a man directs a young boy to look into the box to see 12 vignettes in 3 columns relating to current events and issues, including General Burgoynes surrender at Saratoga, Burgoyne and Howe defending their conduct before Parliament, impoverished veterans at Greenwich, and defending the Jersey coast from French attack.
