Rogers writes to describe the dedication of the Bunker Hill Monument, June 17th & expresses his disappointment with the dedication speech by Daniel Webster, noting that the speech Webster gave at the laying of the cornerstone (back on the fiftieth anniversary of the battle in 1825) was better.
Sereno Dwight Nicherson (1823-1909) was Yale Class of 1845.
Partial red wax seal remains; stamped postal markings.
