Summary
In an unidentified hand, possibly Rumford's.|At upper right: B. Thompson / Lt. Col.|Legend, i.e. "Explanation" labels and fixes measuements for the Redoubt, parapets, banquet, ditch, a circular line "100 feet from the redoubt", and "The manner of posting guns or howitzers whilst the redoubt is erecting"|Rumford was an American-born British officer during the Revolution. In 1782, he was located on Long Island, where he built a fort for winter quarters near Huntington. This drawing may date from that place and period.|With board for potential mounting
