Summary
Friendly letter about the"unusual severity of the winter and the prodigious depth of snow" which has "almost all over the western shore exceeds any thing in the memory of our oldest men."|Also, "the Chesapeake has been frozen all winter so that I have not had a toll to my mill since Christmas ..., but it has been raining and thawing for a week past and I expect in a week more that merchantmen from all parts of the world will be gliding into this part, and tho' my finances have been considerably embarrassed ..., I hope soon to repair the injuries my fortune has sustained."|"Will you ... be in Philadephia the first Monday in May next? You know our illustrious president, pro: tem, has summoned the general Society of Cincinnati to meet 'then and there' and it will be a great addition to the happiness I shall receive from meeting the companions of the order to find you of the number."|Williams and Greene were both original members of the Society of the Cincinnati.|Inlaid
