"Please to deliver to the barrer Sergt Gd.n Chittend.n of the Conn.t Regt. the state securities found due to me as a settlement with the committee of the Connecticut Line to me a soldier in the late 6th Conn.t Regiment up to Jan. 1780 [ signed] Zenos Mix X his mark and witness my hand this 28 day of April 1781. Appeared & sined [sic] the within order in my presence [signed] A. Prior Maj.r|On verso: Camp Philipsburg 25th July 1781 - This certifies that the Committee return.d Zenas Mix a ballance due on settling the acct of depreciation twenty six pounds nineteen shillings & eleven pence before Jany /80 the late 6th Conn.t Regt. [signed] Jno Sherman Lieut Pay Mas.r|Mix served in Stephen Potter's Company, 6th Connecticut -- Record of Connecticut men in the military and naval service during the war of the Revolution, p. 205.|Prior was an original member of the Connecticut Society of the Cincinnati as was John Sherman, who served as paymaster of the 6th Connecticut and transferred to the 4th.
