In an unidentified hand|"Capt. John Ruggles relation is as follows [:] on Fryday [sic] last * rec'd a letter from my father Timothy Ruggles Esqr wherein was inclosed a covenant for those to sign who would abide by it to save their lifes [sic] & fortunes &c &c."|... that there has been and are to be covenants sent out ot every town in the Province for the Friends of Government to sign to combine together and arm themselves and if need be repel force with force ...."|"Arnold says he was a Deans Tavern where there was a number met and signed a paper."|Mentions other covenants at Montague, Boston, Peterham, and Danforth|For a biographical sketch of General Timothy Ruggles, see James H.
