"Please to deliver the allowance of Connecticut State Store for one capt. of Capt Jarius Wilcoxes company in Colo Jonathan Baldwins reg.t of enlisted artificers belonging to the State of Connecticut.|Most of the 34 men named on the roll appear in the list of Captain Wilcox's Company of Artificers in Record of Connecticut Men during the War of the Revolution, p. 290. Four, however, do not: Ebenezer Blackman, Francis Brown, Daniel Case, and William Stillman.|Docketed on verso: Capt. Wilcocks / Artificers / No. rations 37 / delivr.d 37 sugar / 18 1/2 P.N. rum / Paid 55/6. (The captain was credited with 3 rations; the men, 1 each.)|Although the Artillery Artificers was a Continental regiment under Col. Lamb and Liet. Col. Baldwin, many of the artificers were from Connecticut and received supplies such as sugar from that state. See Record of Connecticut men during the War of the Revolution, p. 289.|Wilcox's name is spelled variously in the document: Jareus Wilcox; Jerius Willcox; and Capt. Wilcocks. Metcalf lists him as Wilcox, Jarios. (He was eligible to the Society of the Cincinnati, but did not join.)|Baldwin was an original member of the Massachusetts Society of the Cincinnati.
