In tres milites Americanos qui Andream, Britannicum, explorandi causa missum captivum duxerunt: ex Anglico" (p. 159-160): addressed to 3 American soldiers who had capture one "Andream" (in reference to Major John Andr); described Washington, "Wassintoniacum jactantia marmora nomen / Carpet sera dies, vobisque nocere nequibit / Felices, quibus humanæ fastigia sortis / Sic tetigisse datur, non ullis tacta tyrannis!"
Bound in 19th century brown morocco with gilt wheatsheaf crest of Monckton Milnes (1st Baron Houghton, an English poet and politician).
Ms. notes on front pastedown & front free endpapers: "From Mr. Fazakerley to Mr. Nicholas Beford street Bedfd. Squ."; Bought at D. Scotts sale for 1£.15s."; ms. note by Richard Monckton Milnes.
