September 1777 I employed Mr. Gold to do the above servie [signed] G S Silliman Brig.r Gen.l|Part [2]: To John Larance [sic] ... of the state of Connecticut ... Plese [sic] to pay ye ballance of the above account to the above named Abel Gold ... L2.11.0 ... we having examined the account & found it justly charg.d ....|On verso: No. 10085 / Order / Abel Gold / Dat.d 11th May 1778 / L2:11:0 / Audited Dec.r 21 1778 / E [Hummer?]|Also on verso: Bill on the tresuar [sic] and signature of Rich.d Hubbell|Silliman commanded the Connecticut militia brigade at the time.
