"Pay ... to Pierpont Edwards attorney to the selectmen of the town of Branford the sum of fifteen pounds twelve shillings and 3d lawful money being the costs taxed by the County Court for ... New Haven ... in a prosecution against the estate of Miles Sherbrook who hath gone over to and putting self under the protection of the enemy ."|Sherbrook, a merchant in New York, was arrested by order of Washington and sent to Fishkill. In 1776, he applied to the Committee of Saffety for release and was allowed to live at Middletown, Connecticut, on parole. In 1778, he was captured and imprisoned. -- cf. Sabine.
