Summary
Certified copy of 4 documents relating to half pay for Davis, who lost an eye "at the storming of Stoney Point Fort"|At head of title: State of Connecticut / To Lothrop Davis, Serg.t|The first copy certifies that Davis was wounded at Stoney Point in Col. Starr's Regt. from June 5 1781 to May 5 1783.|The second, a receipt dated May 12, 1783, is an order from the Pay Table for 34 pounds, ten shillings.|The third, dated from Norwich, April 15th, 1783 certifies that Davis a "serj.t in Col. Return Meig's Regt was wounded at the storming of Stoney Point Fort which has render'd him unable to support himself by bodily labor." The original was signed by Selectmen of Lebanon: J. Turner, M.D., Daniel Abel, Sam.l Fuller, Eleazer Richardson, and Wm. Huntington.|The fourth, dated from Lebanon, May 10th 1783, certifies that Davis "is still disabled from getting his living by hard labor as there is a constant discharge from the wound and hard exercise increases the discharge and brings on giddiness tremors &c Test James Thomas M.D.|:The account, receipt & certificates above concerning Serj.t Lothrop Davis, are truly copied from the originals filed in this office May 12th 1783.
