For a similar document in the collection, see: MSS L1993.85. It bears the same signatures, date, and subject; only the amount of the pay order differs. The other one authorizes fifteen pounds.
On verso: L3 order / R. Pomeroy DWM / Decr. 26th 1781; in another hand Ralph Pomeroy D.Q.M.
Pomeroy had been paymaster of the 3rd Connecticut and was an original member of the Connecticut Society of the Cincinnati
