Chester was an original member of the Connecticut Society of the Cincinnati
One William Griswold served in the Connecticut militia from 1775 and is identified as being from Wethersfield in Record of Connecticut men ,,, during the war of the Revolution.
One Benjamin Evans served in the 9th company of the second Connecticut regiment in 1775. Another, according to Heitman, served in the second New York in 1775.
