This discourse endorses the right of revolution when rulers violate the natural rights of men. Fish defends, against the incursions of King and Parliament, "the right of each individual hath to enjoy his own life, liberty, and property, or his own earnings, as a privilege of a reasonable creature, evidently stampt on the human soul, which stamp gave birth to government, as a means to preserve and enjoy this right."
