"The army will immediately want forage in this neighbourhood. I have not money to pay for it on the delivery: but I have draughts on the several states from Jersey to New Hampshire:and as fast as taxes are collected I shall get money."
"... I hope the farmers will be ready to furnish the forage we shall want. They may object that former promises were not fulfilled: I am sorry that this is true but for this I am not to blame."
