A friendly letter, discussing news from Europe and criticizing Louis XVIII, "la personne de Monsieur que se fait appeller Louis 18, et qui est fidele a toutes les petitesses et aux moindres souvenirs de l'ancien regime", who had in June become king and was hoping to promote the royalist cause throughout Europe.
Reports that "Beaumes [i.e.,[Bon-Albert, Birois de Beaumez, a friend of Talleyrand who married a sister of Henry Knox] is no longer in Boston but has been several weeks at the home of General Knox.
