Apparently a copy on onionskin of the original invoice
"Invoice 2 chests tea shipped by Jonathan Williams [illegible] on board the Brig Unity Capt. Jonathan Coffin on account ... of Mr. Samuel Tertius Vernon" at cost of 2236 pounds, 8 shillings, 8 pence.
Samuel Vernon was a prominent Newport merchant, as was his grandson Samuel (1756-1834), who was probably too young at the time of this letter to be the recipient.
