First published in 1755 & numerous states published 1755-1794; this map is 2nd state, depicting the impact of the 1763 Treaty of Paris on the British and French imperial holdings in North America, with Britain in control of the Eastern half of the continent, France holding the "Louisana" territory west of the Mississippi and Spain claiming the far West and Central America.
Draws heavily on John Mitchell's "Map of the British and French dominions in North America," also issued in 1755.
Engraved on four sheets; 32 section cut and backed in linen for folding (26 x 15 cm.), as originally issued.
Relief shown pictorially.
Shows "Longitude west from Ferro" and "Longitude west from London."
Includes articles IV, V, VI, VII, IX, XVII, XVIII & XX of the "Definitive treaty."
