Note
Reports having sold, on the advice of "Uncle Mumford" some grey horses for "five hundred Spanish milled dollars" and is having two mares appraised by Capt. Randall. A Capt. Peleg Randall, possibly this one, served in the Connecticut militia.
"In reference to Capt. [John?] Hinman; Cyrus Wheeler who is going in Brig Jay informed me that his brother came from Point Judith, who read in Boston paper there that Capt. E. Hinman in Brig Marquiss [sic]; the Ships Rising Sun & Rover were taken by an Irish cutter & frigate & ordered home to England - no truth in it I believe."
