One of the most important maps of the American Revolution; Bauman's plan provides detail of the topography, fortifications, siege works, positions of the American and British lines and headquarters of the commanding officers during the siege of Yorktown.
At the center of the map: "The field where the British laid down their arms."
Major Bauman was an original member of the NY Society; Robert Scot was the engraver of the text on the Society's diploma plate.
