Account of 2 blankets furnished to James Screen & Josiah Rising 2d Regt. Light Dragoons
A list of 7 blanks for soldier in the state regiment for 1782 is crossed out.
"The above mentioned James Screen and Josiah Rising inlisted [sic] into Col. Elisha Sheldons Regt. of L.t Dragoons and rec.d each a blanket of the town of Suffield ... [signed] Alex King one of the selectmen"
With a voided list of seven others -- Elias Dyar, Levi Allen, Dudly Trent, John Hall, Bela [Therit?], Elisha Fowler, and Noadiah Adams --, dated Sept. 9th 1783; "also guns & accoutrements / Dyar's gun lost" crossed out
Also a receipt dated Nov. 6th 1783: "Rec.d of Pay Table Com.tee an order on Treasurer for thirty shillings lawful money ... [signed] Alex. King one of the Selectmen
On verso: Blankets; also docketed: Suffield Selectmen / Acct - Blankets / furnish.d / Cont.al recruits / 1 [pound] 10 shillings / Nov. 6th 1783
Elisha Sheldon was an original member of the Connecticut Society of the Cincinnati
