"Know all men by these presents that we Ezekiel Scott of Farmington & Marquis [sic] Cole of Chatham ... are ... firmly bound unto the Governor & Company of the English Colony of Connecticut ... in the sum of three thousand pounds ...."
"The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound on Ezekiel Scott is appointed Paymaster of the 2nd company in the 2nd Regiment of troops now to be rais.d/"
"Now if the s.d Ezekiel shall faithfully & justly dispose of all the monies he shall receive out of the publick treasury for the purpose of inlisting & paying the soldiers in s.d company & shall account with the Committee of Pay Table for the same ...."
