Print shows a rearing black stallion (representing America) which has thrown its rider (Thomas Gage, the last royal governor of Massachusetts). The rider has struck his head on a mile marker "To Boston VI miles" behind which is a signpost pointing the way to Salem.
Mounted on board (verso of an old print of a riverside, orchard and gardens, title reads "Ther Thorpe in Linconshire. Knight of the Honble . order oof the Bath ...")
