On verso: Recevd an order on the town Treasurer in full of the within amount [signed] William Ingalls
Ingalls, apparently the town jailor, charges the town for transporting and keeping Lucy Pernon to gaol, "turning the kee on her", and "keeping her in gaol untill the 14th of June 1777 16 weeks & 2 days at 84/ a week; again on Feb. 25 1778, he conveys her to goal again for 39 weeks and 2 days.
On June 29 1778 he conveyed "3 French gentelmen & their interpreter to Ipswich
