Written (with numerous corrections) while in prison relating to a payment dispute, the hero of the Battle of Rhode Island, General William Barton, writes of his military achievements, which his capture of British general Richard Prescott, and notes that he is in prison for no reason. He hopes someone will take his case to Congress.
