Apparently based on earlier version, "Asgill, ou Le prisonnier de guerre ...," 1793.
Opera libretto; set in "Charles-Town" during the American Revolution, Arnill is a "young American, a fierce partisan for liberty," in prison for his revolutionary activities and facing execution. Just when he has given up all hope the prison is stormed by the local citizens and he is freed.
