"We summons you all in the name of truth & justice to give an account of your selves & conduct or we shall exact a long account for you ...."
"You pretend to be friend to America but are murdering for the King of England ...."
"You wantonly fired upon our people without knowing who they were or even demanding them to surrender ...."
"New York will be given up before long and what will become of such paricides and sons of Belial [i.e., Baal?] ...."
"But the property you have unjustly taken from us if not immediately restor'd ... or satisfaction made for every article ... boats, sails, guns, ammunition cloathing provisions oars & all the tackle thereunto belonging, likewise the tea & powder taken from Digby must be accounted for ...."
