Catherine Anderson (wife of Larz Anderson I) writes on August 2: the sixteenth birthday of her "namesake" Kate (her granddaughter & the sister of Larz Worthington Anderson); on August 11: "I am made a handsome Grandmother - Posterity will declare that the Larz Anderson descendants got their beauty from the paternal not the maternal side of the house - but it will be constrained to say, "She was a good knitter," ..."
