"Litchfield April 24th 1783 / These certify that Salmon Buel of Litchfield who was wounded in the militia service on the retreat of the enemy from the conflagration of Danbury A D 1777 is still a very cripple and unable to travel or labor or do any kind of business to procure himself a subsistance / Abraham Bradley [and] Ebenezer Marsh, Selectmen"
