Revolutionary war satire based on a similarly titled satire in the Westminster magazine, London, February 1778; this is an American variant, issued as the frontispiece in the Weatherwise's town and country almanack, 1781, published in Boston, 1780.
Satirizes the dismemberment of British trade, represented by a cow with its horn being sawn off by the Continental Congress while the Dutch, French & Spanish steal its milk.
This print (differs from its British one in background) shows Sir Henry Clinton & Benedict Arnold plotting in renaming city "New York" instead of Philadelphia & revising item "VI" of the "Explanation" to focus on the recently revealed treachery of Benedict Arnold; the original showed the Howe brothers, commanders of the British army and navy in America, napping at a table in the city of Philadelphia.
