The Tammany Society of New York sponsored a march through the streets of New York and then by boat to Brooklyn to convey recovered bones of those who died on British prison ships to a newly constructed memorial tomb.
The Cincinnati are listed 8th in the procession: "Order of procession ... 8th. The Cincinnati, agreeably to any plan they may suggest, but corresponding with the main design."
Though the Cincinnati were listed on the order of procession in this broadside, an account ("An account of the interment of the remains of 11,500 American seamen, soldiers and citizens who fell victim to the cruelties of the British on board their prison ships ...") published after the event notes that "Time having reduced this veteran band to a very small number, all who attended were distributed among the military other honourable bodies, in which they held stations"--p. 64 (call no. 973.371 T158 1808).
