"I can not with certainty yet inform you whether your attendance here will be indispensably necessary. Messrs Reid & Bingham are here .... Armstrong tis said will be here this day or tomorrow, whether he means to attend ... I know not."
"If the Philadelphians could be persuaded to write & talk less on this subject, I think their purpose could be equal if not better answered."
Irvine, Meredith, Reid, Bingham, and Armstrong were all Pennsylvania delegates to the Continental Congress.
Irvine, Armstrong, and Reid were all original members of the Pennsylvania Society of the Cincinnati.
