This memorial card honors the memory of William Woollett.
Unfurled scroll listing "Wolfe, La Hogue" & his other works, held by the angel kneeling at the foot of his grave stone inscribed "Sacred to the memory of William Woollett ... obit May 23, 1785."
Woollett was appointed by George III "Historical engraver to His Majesty"; known for his engravings of military scenes, including "The death of General Wolfe."
Printed in "red chalk style."
