Royal commission of Denis Jean Florimond Langlois de Mautheville, marquis du Bouchet, as an aide-de-camp to General Rochambeau, for his expedition in America.
Bouchet, a French military officer, came to America in in 1777 to volunteer in the Continental Army. He was appointed captain and served on the staff of Maj. Gen. Horatio Gates, receiving a promotion to major. He was honorably discharged for reason of health and returned to France in 1778. He was appointed aide-de-camp to General Rochambeau and returned with him to America in 1780. He became a member of French Society in 1784.
