Partially printed announcement of the death of Captain-Lieutenant Alexander Clinton; New York Society member Alexander Clinton (son of General James Clinton) drowned at age 21 in a boating accident on the Hudson. The president of the New York Society, Major-General Baron Steuben, calls for the members to wear "a Mourning-Crape on the left arm for the space of twenty-one days from the 20th instant."
