Admiral Hood writes to Lady Chatham ((wife of William Pitt) regarding her son, Lord Pitt, who sent out Canada to server with General Carleton & mentions the current situation in America: " ... the Lizard Frigare has orders to go to Quebec and will sail from Portsmouth in about a week. If your Ladyship has any thing to send to Lord Pitt, and will consign them to me, I shall have much pleasure in putting them on board under the Captain's care. I dare say the Earl of Chatham will have rec'd very particular accounts of the situation of things in America ..."
