Letter written concerning the review process for revolutionary war veterans claims: "... Persons (as I doubt not there are many on those Islands [Lond Island & Staten Island]) may make out a well supported claim, who perhaps, from their conduct in the late war may not be entitled to this privaledge [i.e. privilege] ..."
Major Barber was aid to General Maxwell & Lord Stirling, wounded at Yorktown during the revolutionary war; original member of the NJ Society.

Partial wax seal remains.
