In ink on front free endpaper: " ... Ducluzel Enseigne des vaisseaux du roy. Contenant la marine suivant son ancien pied et sur le nouveau reglement de mr de Boynes en 1772."
Kept by Antoine-Robert Cluzel when he was an enseigne de vaisseau in the French navy in 1772. He served in America during the revolutionary war and became an original member of the French Society.
