"This certifies that Capt. Jn.o Webb belonged to 2d Reg.t Lt. Dragoons before the year 1779 & is intitled to his arrearages for depreciation for the years 77, 78 & 79."
Item 2 is a partially printed receipt signed by John Webb, Captain, 2nd Reg.t L. Dragoons to the Pay-Table-Committe at Hartford, Feb 21, 1781 for a total of 387 pounds, 14 shillings, 10 pence

Both Tallmadge and Webb were original members of the Connecticut Society of the Cincinnati.
