Munsell had petitioned the Selectmen "representing that in the month of April 1776 he inlisted [sic] ... for 9 months in the army ... at New York till he was regularly dismis'd yet the listers put his head into the list whereas by law his head was exempted...."
Munsell entlisted in Col. Huntington's 17th Connecticut Regiment in 1776.
"We are of oppinion [sic] that his head was wrongfully put into the list of 1776 and do hereby order that the sum his head is set at in sd list and all rates thereupon made be abated."
The sum mentioned: 18 pounds, 7 shillings and 10 pence.
