Note
"I inclose [sic] here a return of thoses [sic] inlisted in the state of Maryland. [not present] They have been discharged from the service the 15th of Novemb[er] & no doubt will make application to ... Maryland for privileges granted by her to her others troops."
Uncertain whether the War Office had sent returns of the men in "the Legion [i.e., Armand's Legion], he had not sent the list himself "till this day"
Armand's Legion was known as the 1st Partisan Corps of the Continental Line -- see Robert K. Wright. The Continental Army, p. 347-348.
The Marquis de La Rouerie was an original member of the French Society of the Cincinnati, and Paca was an honorary member of the Maryland State Society.
