A list of Ipswich men who received bounties for military service, primarily "to the westward", "to Canada", "to join the army at New York", or for temporary "service in the Continental Army" between July 30, 1776 and Dec. 1, 1778.
Entries for "Fifty men for six weeks at Rhode Island" (Aug. 1778); another 10 men to serve "at Rhode Island by a resolve of June 12th 1778 for five & half months"; and on p. [2] 6 more men to Rhode Island
John Farley served as Captain in the Essex County regiment of Massachusetts militia
