Expanded version of Lewis Evans' "The middle British colonies in America," published in 1755; updated by Pownall & issued at the beginning of the revolutionary war.
This map is consisting of Evans' original plate with a new plate for part of the northeast appended to it.
Originnally accompanied by the author's "A topographical description of such parts of North America as are contained in the (annexed) map of the middle British colonies &c. in North America," 1776.
Prime meridian: London and Philadelphia.

Includes text, list of townships, distance charts; inset "A sketch of the remaining part of Ohio R. &c."; "Tables of traveling distances."
At upper left corner: dedicated to Thomas Pownall Esqr. by Evans (Pownall was the governor of Massachusetts).
