Mary Pitman Bryant (Weld) was Isabel Anderson’s grandmother. Isabel describes this ms. in some detail in her book, "Under the black horse flag," as an example of her literary lineage. Mary Pitman Bryant was a relative of William Cullen Bryant, whose poetry is also found in the volume.
Some poetry marked "PSJHJOBM" (cipher for the word original).
Bound in green boards with quarter red leather; "Mary Pitman Bryant" in gilt on front cover.
Bookplate: Ex libris, Eleanor Sprague (married to Sefton, Stewart & Talmadge).
