Female figure grieves beside a neoclassical monument to a British captain who perished during the hurricane that devastated St. Lucia in 1780. His ship, HMS Beavers Prize, was originally an American privateer ship named Oliver Cromwell. She was captured by HMS Beaver in 1777.
